Hi, I’m Sam
I’m a bestselling author of mysteries and adventures, living in London. My next book, The Galileo Heist, will be published in February 2026.
Epic Cities & Epic Adventures
My two non-fiction books for young adventurers explore some of the world’s most fascinating secrets!
Epic Cities is a grand tour of some of the world’s most awesome cities, their jaw-dropping wonders and the hidden machinery makes them tick. Beautifully illustrated throughout by Daniel Long, you’ll visit the markets of Marrakesh, ride the cable cars of Medellin, and see how Reykjavik harnesses the power of an active volcano.
Epic Adventures is a fact-filled romp around some of the world’s most incredible railway journeys. Filled with beautiful maps, sweeping vistas and detailed close-ups drawn by the amazing Sam Brewster, it’s packed with amazing facts about the history, geography, food and culture of the trains and the countries they pass through, capturing the joy and wonder of exploring the world by rail.
Isaac Turner Investigates
My series of action-packed middle grade mysteries follows aspiring inventor Isaac Turner on his breathtaking adventures around the world.
Isaac’s love of science and fascination with how things work makes him well-suited to solving perplexing mysteries, along with his rebellious friend Hattie, who never saw a rooftop she didn’t want to climb or a rule she didn’t want to break.
Each book follows Isaac and Hattie on a standalone adventure at real life locations, inspired by everything that makes the world tick: mechanics, navigation, physics, and the boundless possibility of scientific discovery.
Isaac’s bestselling first adventure, The Clockwork Conspiracy, was published by Bloomsbury in February 2024. His latest, The Forbidden Atlas, was released in February 2025.
Adventures On Trains
Adventures on Trains is my bestselling series of middle-grade fiction novels, co-written with my great friend M. G. Leonard, and published internationally by Macmillan.
The books follow Harrison Beck, an 11-year-old boy from Crewe who loves to draw. Hal takes incredible journeys around the world with his Uncle Nat, a travel journalist with a passion for trains, and they always seem to find themselves caught up in a mystery.
The first instalment, The Highland Falcon Thief, scooped the Children’s Fiction Book of the Year at the 2021 British Book Awards.
The latest book in the series, The Arctic Railway Assassin, is out now.
