Hi, I’m Sam

I’m a bestselling author of mysteries, adventures, and non-fiction books, living in London. I also host events and podcasts. My latest book, The Clockwork Conspiracy, is published in February.

I am wild with excitement that my very first solo middle grade adventure story is out now!

The Clockwork Conspiracy is the first instalment in a new series of standalone mystery stories featuring aspiring inventor Isaac Turner.

When Isaac’s dad vanishes from the belfry of Big Ben on the night the clocks go back, leaving behind only a smashed pocket watch and a cryptic message, Isaac is determined to find him. But hunting a trail of clues through London’s landmarks, he finds a conspiracy in the gears of government, and must race against time to save his father - and time itself.

I can’t wait for you to discover Isaac’s new adventures.

Epic Adventures

Epic Adventures is a hardcover, fully-illustrated, non-fiction extravaganza about the world’s most incredible railway journeys!

Filled with beautiful maps, sweeping vistas and detailed close-ups drawn by the amazing Sam Brewster, and full of amazing facts about the history, geography, food and culture of the trains and the countries they pass through, this book captures the joy and wonder of exploring the world by rail.

It’s my first solo book, and I’m incredibly proud of it! You can find it in all great bookshops now.

Adventures On Trains

Adventures on Trains is my bestselling series of middle-grade fiction novels, co-written with my great friend M. G. Leonard, and published internationally by Macmillan.

The books follow Harrison Beck, an 11-year-old boy from Crewe who loves to draw. Hal takes incredible journeys around the world with his Uncle Nat, a travel journalist with a passion for trains, and they always seem to find themselves caught up in a mystery.

The first instalment, The Highland Falcon Thief, scooped the Children’s Fiction Book of the Year at the 2021 British Book Awards.

The latest book in the series, The Arctic Railway Assassin, is out now.
